Hellanna joined Gjesdahl Law in August 2024 as its Office Coordinator. She takes care of all the many tasks and projects that don’t cleanly land on our lawyers, paralegals, or accountant. Some call her position, “IMJ,” for “it’s my job!” She’s our “everything” person, who makes the office run smoothly.
Hellanna grew up in Crookston, Minnesota. She graduated from MSUM in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in event planning, and a minor in entrepreneurship.
Hellanna has a passion for all things weddings and has part-time jobs selling wedding dresses at RSVP Bride by Alan Evans and coordinating weddings at Breathe & Relax Events.
Hellanna lives in Fargo with her two cousins, Olivia and Ava, along with their three cats Peach, Ophelia, and Bast. In her free time, she loves to read books, travel, attend concerts, and binge-watch television shows with her cousins.
Maddy grew up in Fargo and graduated from UND in 2021 with bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice, Psychology, and Business Management. In 2023, she obtained a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology at ASU. Currently, she is our full-time law clerk, while also attending Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
Over the last five years, Maddy has accumulated abundant direct experience addressing domestic violence and coercive control, in a variety of roles and contexts. She has experience providing services and safety to victims and coordinating evaluations of, and counseling to, perpetrators. Maddy is certified in the Duluth Model Curriculum, the goal of which is to change the beliefs of battering men, and in forensic trauma interviewing. Her experience and insights with respect to domestic violence and coercive control strengthen our work with these dynamics and their consequences.
Maddy lives in West Fargo with her fiancé, Josh, and their mini Aussiedoodle, Lola. She fills what little spare time she has snowboarding, teaching Solidcore workouts, hanging with friends and family, and planning her next trip.
